The ETI is a public-private partnership between global energy and engineering companies and the UK Government. ETI's role is to act as a conduit between academia, industry and the government to accelerate the development of low carbon technologies. ETI brings together engineering projects that develop affordable, secure and sustainable technologies to help the UK address its long term emissions reductions targets as well as delivering nearer term benefits.
ETI makes targeted commercial investments in nine technology programmes across heat, power, transport and the infrastructure that links them.
The ETI aims to increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make a major contribution to the achievement of UK energy and climate change goals. ETI has consulted widely, and in so doing, identified the focus areas for their programmes:
- Offshore Wind
- Distributed Energy
- Energy Storage & Distribution
- Smart Systems & Heat
- Carbon Capture & Storage
By working together, sharing resources, knowledge and expertise, ETI's Technology Programmes will accelerate the creation of innovative and commercially viable products and processes.
The sooner we can bring new technologies to the market, the sooner we can increase energy efficiency and protect the energy supply for present and future generations. For more information: Email firstname.lastname@example.org or Telephone 01509 202020.
