Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF)

HIWCF is an independent charitable foundation dedicated to connecting donors with the local causes and charities they care about.

HIWCF are part of a national network of currently 46 accredited community foundations and 7 non-accredited associations across the UK who play a leading role in the development of local philanthropy to sustain voluntary action within our communities. Collectively the network has already encouraged the growth of community owned endowments to £380m on behalf of over 15,000 donors. As part of this there are 3,323 funds, which including flowthrough funds totals £419m. In 2012-13 almost 20,000 grants totalling £60m were awarded to groups across the UK.

HIWCF has built a local endowment of £7.6m and awarded nearly £5m in small grants to approximately 2000 local community groups and charities.

HIWCF specialises in awarding grants to smaller, lesser known charities and community groups who offer the support, services and activities that can really make a difference to local people's lives.

HIWCF are proud to have made a difference to the lives of over 500,000 people living in local communities across Hampshire & Isle of Wight.

The Apprenticeship & Traineeship Scheme

The Apprenticeship scheme has now been extended to include funding for 20 week traineeship placements. This successful programme which has been developed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation, and is supported by Youth Options, providing a unique programme offering a grant to local charities to pay for and support a young person (16-24) on an apprenticeship or traineeship placement within their organisation.

  • Business & Administration Apprenticeship Schemes
  • Customer Services Apprenticeship Schemes
  • 2nd year (level 3) Apprenticeship Schemes
