Hotwalls Studios is a historic site transformed into new creative quarter providing Artist studio spaces and Brasserie premises.
The premises are located on Broad Street, Old Portsmouth within walking distance of Gunwharf Quays, the Emirates Spinnaker Tower, and Southsea seafront.
Portsmouth City Council was successful in securing funding to transform vacant arches into artist studio spaces and convert historic fortifications into a new creative quarter. The finished site will comprise thirteen studios, a waterfront brasserie, cafe and interpretation area, known as Hotwalls Studios.
The project will create new jobs and opportunities to visually enhance the area, as well as supporting emerging creative industries. Artists who take up one of the new studios will enjoy a unique opportunity to showcase their work to the public and will also benefit from the potential for exhibitions in the refurbished Round Tower.
Applications are now open for space at the Hotwalls Studios.
Hotwalls Studios aims to provide a supportive community in which artists, creative and makers can start and grow their businesses.
The artist studio spaces are located in unique and important heritage buildings - known collectively as Point Battery. Thirteen studios are available, ranging in size from 194 square feet (18 square metres) to 258 square feet (24 square metres).
Hotwalls Studios can be used between 7am to 11pm, seven days a week. You can apply to rent a whole studio or to share with another business.
