Helping your business be ambitious

Growth Hub Networks

Today, there are estimated to be over 800 different grants and schemes currently available to help businesses grow. Many are available nationally in England but others can be accessed online through your local Growth Hub.

Part of the Government-supported Growth Hub Network

The Solent Growth Hub is a digital resource that provides access to local and national, public and private business support providers.

The Solent Growth Hub was launched in January 2014 as part of a Government initiative to support the growth of new and existing businesses, creating jobs in the Solent area. The Hub offers businesses in the Solent LEP area simplified access to a range of information, advice and support services provided nationally and locally in a more straightforward, complete and co-ordinated way than has formerly been available.

The Hub assists individuals, organisations and businesses - from start-ups to established operations - select the initiatives and services that can best support them to achieve their growth potential and create new jobs for the Solent region.

The Hub provides a single point of reference to help businesses navigate their way through the complexity of support and growth initiatives that are now available from public, private and not-for-profit organisations.

The Hub helps businesses to find appropriate growth assistance from public and private sector organisations with a range of specialist knowledge and skills. We direct businesses to national schemes (such as Innovate UK and the Departmentfor International Trade) and regional support from the Solent LEP and Start-Up networks, plus a network of committed private providers who share our vision for supporting growth.

The completion of England's network of Growth Hubs

The primary source of business support in England is now delivered by Growth Hubs. These are local public/private sector partnerships led by the Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs). They join up national and local business support, including the contribution of local Chambers of Commerce, Enterprise Zones, Universities and banks. This ensures that each hub is locally driven, locally owned and at the heart of the Government's plan to ensure business support is simpler, more joined up and easier to access. The last of the 39 hubs to join the network went live in May 2016, giving the 4.7 million businesses across England ready access to support needed to help start-ups, assist business growth and create more jobs. If your business is looking for support, then your local Growth Hub is one of the best places to start. You can find it online by searching the Growth Hub finder.
