The Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs is for anyone who is thinking about starting or already running their own business, those who support them and those employed in innovative and entrepreneurial businesses.
The IOEE has been over 15 years in the making and exists to make sure that all those involved in enterprise are able to access the support they need, when they need it.
The IOEE works with a diverse range of organisations in the public, private and third sector to provide enterprising solutions for the challenges and opportunities faced in enhancing the quality of support and learning available to small and home based-businesses.
By building upon the work and track record over the last 15 years of SFEDI (Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative) in improving the access for prospective and existing entrepreneurs to personal and business development that works in practice, the IOEE (along with our delivery partner SFEDI Solutions) is able to offer the following three core services:
Standards setting and research
Standards are developed and informed by undertaking applied or engaged research projects which address different aspects of small business and enterprise development
Development and delivery
The IOEE works across a range of different sectors, such as further and higher education and community development, to advise, shape and deliver demand-led support and learning opportunities for small and home-based businesses
Staff from the IOEE actively contribute to a number of key national and international networks focused on enhancing the quality of support and learning available to small businesses. These include the ACCA SME Committee, ACT and the International Enterprise Promotion Conference.
All of their work is informed by research into what other entrepreneurs do and have done in order to be successful. It's about small business owners helping each other. The IOEE was officially founded in 2010 creating the first dedicated professional learning institute specialising in business enterprise and business support, a standing still enjoyed to this day within the UK.
The Institute's programmes and qualifications are built on the extensive research that underpins the SFEDI® National Occupational Standards and the expertise of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs, the UK's only professional Institute dedicated to enterprise.
IOEE programmes and qualifications having been designed to be flexible to meet the wide range of demand within enterprise learning, recognising the needs of industry to develop enterprising and entrepreneurial individuals to support the sustainability and growth of business and the wider community.
IOEE also develops and publishes best practice materials and resources to support the delivery of their qualifications to a high standard to ensure that your customers gain all they require when either starting or progressing their enterprise journey.
The IOEE was created to recognise all those who invest in enterprise learning and development. Professional institutes exist for most occupations, why not entrepreneurs?
