Enterprise Advisor Network

EBP South Ltd and the Solent LEP are working to expand the Careers and Enterprise Company's Enterprise Adviser Network in the Solent, within which 1,300 Enterprise Advisers are now recruited nationally, on behalf of The Careers and Enterprise Company in the Solent area.

The Careers & Enterprise Company is an employer-led organisation set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work. Its role is to take an umbrella view of the landscape of careers and enterprise, supporting programmes that work, filling gaps in provision and ensuring coverage across the country.

EBP South Ltd and the Solent LEP are supporting the Careers & Enterprise Company's Enterprise Adviser programme through a small team of Enterprise Coordinators who are working with 60 Enterprise Advisers, all volunteers from business, across 60 schools in the Solent area. These Enterprise Advisers work at a strategic level alongside the schools' senior management teams. The aim of these partnerships is to evaluate the existing careers and enterprise work taking place in the schools and develop activity plans to ensure that the best local provision can be accessed, helping to better prepare their students for the world of work.

Work Experience

Enterprise Education Initiatives provide businesses the opportunity to invest in their future workforce; working with local schools across the Solent region to provide work experience opportunities and enterprise activities.

Hampshire has three Education Business Partnerships that bridge the worlds of business and education offering young people an interesting and realistic introduction to work, including:

EBP South is an established social enterprise and registered charity that raises the aspirations of young people offers insights to the world of work and inspires young people to become more enterprising and resilient. The best way to inspire and motivate young people to fulfil their potential is to offer real work experience by bringing education and businesses together.  By facilitating partnerships between businesses and education, young people are offered the opportunity to undertake work experience placements, work place visits, information, advice and guidance about careers, CV writing workshops, enterprise experiences and mock interviews.

First Partnership brings Education and Business together offering a range of services to Primary, Secondary and Further Education establishments based in Rushmoor & Hart, Andover & District and East Hampshire.  The Partnership works with businesses to prepare young people for their futures. We bring Business and Education together to form mutually beneficial relationships which provide young people with the opportunity to prepare for their futures in the workplace.  They are a charity that each year engages thousands of young people through their work with Primary Schools, Secondary schools, Colleges and NEETS (young people not in education, employment or training).  They inspire and motivate young people through a variety of creative challenges, events and work place visits. The businesses they work with are essential to successfully raising the aspirations and employability skills of young people. Making this valuable contribution to the future workforce and the local community can positively affect employees and business development overall.

Basingstoke Consortium is a charity that works with young people, helping to give them the motivation, self-confidence, attitudes and skills for adult life.  The Consortium provides practical opportunities for them to experience the world of work which are designed to inspire tomorrow's workforce. They have worked with business, education and the local community for 28 years, and have a strong track record in developing innovative programmes and sustainable partnerships.
