Applications open on 22nd September 2016
The Social Tech Seed grant-funding programme offers early-stage investment to entrepreneurs and charitable organisations that are looking to develop new projects using digital for social impact. This programme provides funding and support to help entrepreneurs nurture, develop and test their ideas.
Nominet Trust are looking for applications that demonstrate the potential of digital technology to tackle some of the big social issues in sectors including education, employability, healthcare and the environment.
Social Tech Seed provides funding and support that enables entrepreneurial organisations with a basic, but functional, digital prototype to develop it into a more robust product or service and demonstrate its value to intended users and other stakeholders. If your application is successful, you can expect to receive:
- Grant funding, typically between £15,000 and £50,000 for a project of 9-12 months' duration
- A support package including mentoring, marketing & comms advice and networking opportunities
- Access to a discretionary fund of up to £5,000 should you need access to specific expertise to support your early-stage development
Nominet Trust want to work with entrepreneurial organisations that share their belief in the potential of digital technology to offer new approaches to tackling pressing social challenges including environment and sustainability, education, employment, wellbeing and healthcare. Your compelling proposition is more important to them than what type of organisation you are. For example, you could be a social organisation (e.g. a charity or CIC) with an innovative new digital approach to your work; or a tech team with a disruptive solution that addresses a specific social challenge.
