The scheme is open to all undergraduate and master level students currently studying at Southampton Solent University. It is also open to all postgraduates who have graduated less than three years ago.
The scheme offers up to £2,000 funding for genuine and credible ideas for starting a business or developing a freelance career; the opportunity to receive mentoring from WSX Enterprises Ltd; attendance at an ‘Enterprise Boot Camp' training event and access to business start-up clubs and societies. The money is a grant, you will not need to repay it.
There are some restrictions on what you are expected to spend the money on.
Over the last decade Southampton Solent University has supported over 250 business start-ups via this scheme, supporting a wide range of business start-ups and contributing to the local economy. Examples of our students that have participated in our scheme can be viewed in the Solent Entrepreneurs Guide.
