The National Business Support Helpline provides a quick response service to people with questions about any aspect of starting or running a business. It also provides a more in-depth service for those with more complex enquiries.
Businesses are able to choose an appointment time that is convenient for them, giving them up to 60 minutes of free essential business support.
The Helpline is available for those looking to start a business for the very first time, new start-ups and existing businesses wishing to improve and grow their operations. It provides a service to those needing advice; those who do not have access or who are unable to use the internet; those who cannot find the information they need on the GOV.UK website, and those who run into difficulties using online tools and services.
A specialist business advice service is also available for businesses that are in need of additional assistance, have immediate, complex needs or may be at risk. This targeted service provides pre-starts and established businesses (meeting specific criteria) with more personalised and in-depth advice through a small team of Business Support Advisers (BSAs).
Help is available for those looking to start a business for the very first time, new start-ups and existing businesses who have a query in relation to government legislation and transactional services.
The Helpline provides signposting, diagnostic support and business improvement advice to pre-starts, start ups, and existing businesses, to help them start and grow. The service has developed over time to provide national information, which all businesses require, plus advice and signposting to local sources of help.
