HIVE Portsmouth

HIVE Portsmouth is the central point of contact for services and community connection. Based in the Central Library in Portsmouth; HIVE is the home of social action and enterprise where people can come with ideas and be supported to grow them. Networks, support and resources for start-up social enterprises and community groups who want to develop trading.

For individuals and groups in Portsmouth who have a brilliant idea to improve their community.  Drop into the HIVE for information and support to develop a social enterprise or charitable organisation.  Tailored support for start-ups and small social enterprises.

iamDigital

We are increasingly living in a society that is digital-by-default; this is creating a strong need to develop digital skills and increase the digital capability of all for a digital economy. iAMDigital is a £1m fund which invests in new ventures and established organisations working to increase digital inclusion and digital skills in the UK, outside of London.

iAMDigital will be investing in organisations that have a strong track record of delivering results and are seeking to scale their approach. We are offering low interest loans or equity investments ranging from £50,000 to £250,000. These investments will be matched 50% by the applicant company; for example, an investment request of £50,000 must be matched by £50,000 additional private funding.

Manufacturing Growth Programme

The Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) supports SME Manufacturers to make improvements by identifying, understanding and removing their barriers to growth.

Support tailored to your business:

  • A dedicated, experienced, Manufacturing Growth Manager to provide on-going support
  • A comprehensive business diagnostic tool, GROWTHmapper for manufacturers
  • Identify opportunities and create plans for growth and improvement
  • Work with the best external experts to implement those plans
  • Using an average 35% of the cost of implementing an improvement project
  • Connect to wider support to maximise opportunities for growth

What MGP means for Manufacturing SMEs
If you are an SME manufacturer, the Manufacturing Growth programme provides many advantages for you, including:

  • An independent business review to identify opportunities for business improvement and growth
  • A diagnostic tool specifically designed to help benchmark your business against internal aspiration and goals

NatWest Entrepreneur Pre-Accelerator

Pre-Accelerator is designed to give entrepreneurs the power to start, scale and succeed. It is a fully-funded, quick-fire, intensive eight-week course for early-stage entrepreneurs. The course is eight weeks long but starts with an exciting, immersive,
Ignition’ event and ends with a chance to celebrate and swap experiences. We concentrate on providing early-stage businesses with the best environment, digital learning and networks.

Nesta is a global innovation foundation.  Using our knowledge, networks, funding and skills, we work hard to see new opportunities and challenges; spark creative answers from many sources; shape brilliant ideas into practical solutions; and then shift whole systems in a new direction.

Paperound

Book interns by the hour, when you need them. Hand-off company tasks to capable UK students. So you can work on the important stuff.

UK Students (‘Taskers’ on the platform) can be booked for as a little as one hour to work on the stuff you don’t have time for, and businesses only pay when the work is done. For founders, we give them access to extra resource at the times they need it most, without needing to commit to a full-time hire. This training is perfect for owner managed businesses, sales leaders and sales teams responsible for the development of sales and sales opportunities. The group focussed training helps identify best practice from other sectors, delivered with the Plan. Grow. Do. Quality Marked sales training methodology.

Each learner will receive their own guidebooks for each session to help implement and embed the learning. The sessions are held over 3 consecutive weekly mornings – 3 by 3 hours, 9 hours in total, across 3 distinct journeys; Plan, Grow and Do.
